IRVINE, CA - Dacor, the leading American luxury home appliance brand, announced the debut of its flagship location of The Dacor Kitchen Theater, the third showroom for the brand. Located at The Boardwalk in Irvine, the destination serves as a full-scale showroom, event and product training space to serve consumers and trade while allowing guests to interact first-hand with the brand’s vast selection of high-quality handcrafted cooking and cooling product offerings.
With a rich legacy of more than 50 years and homegrown roots in Southern California, Dacor has been an integral partner to designers across the country, introducing meaningful innovations that have changed the way kitchens are designed and how luxury appliances are made. The Dacor Kitchen Theater in Irvine marks the third showroom opening for the brand in the past 12 months; recent openings include Chicago, in the city’s famed Merchandise Mart last spring and New York in the historic A&D building. The Dacor Kitchen Theater is designed to highlight and celebrate the brand’s California heritage, foster collaboration and invite experimentation with a spotlight on Dacor’s industry-defining high-performance cooking and refrigeration suite of products and creative tools such as DacorMatch.
Designed by global interiors firm, Callison RTKL, the showroom is inspired by California’s diverse mix of geography and features an open layout instilling a natural reverence for indoor-outdoor living. Neutral tones are used throughout the showroom, along with naturalistic materials such as textural wood and rough-hewn stone to both elevate and soften the showroom space. To further exemplify the brand’s connection to Southern California, the showroom features and celebrates local artisans – from custom light fixtures by Siemon & Salazar to custom refrigerator panels designed by LA-based artist Alex Turco – throughout.
A spotlight product wall drawing inspiration from California’s coastline creates a sense of momentum, movement and continuity within the showroom, while a professional cooking demonstration space allows for programming and product education for interior designers, dealers, homeowners and media audiences. This dedicated space will be utilized for classes and events throughout the year with programs choreographed by Dacor’s in-house Chef.
Highlighted within the showroom are three kitchen vignettes to showcase the brand’s distinct styles – Professional, Contemporary and new for 2020, Transitional – to further exemplify the modern entertainer while fusing the brand’s legacy of craftsmanship with intuitive technology. Dacor takes pride in the details, offering luxurious finishes such as graphite and stainless steel, as well as the introduction of Personalize with Dacor accessory kits, enabling customers the ability to customize colors, knobs and handles to create a more personalized aesthetic.
• The Contemporary style of appliances boasts clean and defined aesthetics and is dedicated to elevating the cooking and cooling experiences through intuitive integrated technology, sleek screens, mobile app integration and large cooking visibility. Contemporary style appliances are offered in silver stainless steel and graphite stainless steel with cooling and dishwashing also available as panel ready.
• The Transitional style combines core design elements of Contemporary and Professional incorporating hand-made craftsmanship with a touch of integrated technology, while boasting the high-quality functionality and performance. All Transitional appliances are available in stainless steel with cooling and dishwashing also available as panel ready.
In continued support of the trade community, Dacor launched the National Design Contest, a two-year contest ending in July 2020, which designers and students are invited to submit their work to be recognized and promoted within Dacor’s showrooms, website as well as win prizes including a $10,000 scholarship for student submissions and Grand Prizes for the Designer’s Choice Award, include a trip for the winner and one guest to Seoul, Korea to visit the Dacor house. Members of the Design Council hail from the across the United States and Canada with projects that range from interiors to product design with remodels, new builds and collections.
