Waynes Pumpkin Bread Recipe

Yield: 4 loaves


  • 2 cups butter, softened
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 8 eggs
  • 4 cups pumpkin
  • 1 cup milk
  • 9 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 7 cups all pupose flour
  • 4 teaspoons soda
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1/4 teaspoon rum flavoring


In a microwave melt 2 cups of butter.  Pour in a large mixing bowl, add sugar and stir.  Beat in 8 eggs, one at a time.  Stir in pumpkin, milk and vanilla.  Add remaining ingredients and stir by hand just until well combined.  Pour into four 9x5 inch loaf pans, well greased.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Bake for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.  Remove from pan and cool completely before slicing..
