36"/30" Gas Cooktops
I'm really happy with this stovetop. It performs much better than my last stovetop.

Beauty & Performance
Installed the Dacor 36" gas cooktop in our renovated kitchen in 2010. I was drawn its sleek style & brushed stainless steel finish. It performs like a dream and is easy to clean with a sponge after each use. Still looks new. 'Ajax Scratch free' works well on tough dried spills around the pilots. I use soft cloth with stainless cleaner on the control panel. We are putting another one just like it in our lake house kitchen. I highly recommend this product.

Installed since 2006 and still works and looks great!
Basically we've had no call backs or any issues since Installtion in 2006. That said one knob indictor light stopped functioning (the light, not the knob!) sometime in the past and no one really cares. Plus it's possible for the careless cleaning person using too strong of pad to scractch the otherwise great Stainless Steel finish around the knobs.
Oh, and don't be foolish enough to place the grills in a dishwasher. And we weren't.
Overall great experience so far and I'm ordering an identical unit soon for another home.

This product malfunctions consistantly
The base stained within 2 years of use. The igniters constantly malfunction. The burners have inconsistant flames. Very poor quality.

I'm ambivalent about recommending…but I *think* I would...
It's a great looking piece, yes. However, we've used it for 5 years and it looks like we've used it for double that. Nearly all of the indicator lights are burned out. Unfortunately, the entire piece needs to be meticulously taken apart for them to be replaced (at a price of approx $150-300 for the service call and lights…more just to replace the lights on our own). We have rust-looking spots that are frustrating because we are super diligent about cleaning the stovetop near-daily. For the trim and around the knobs, we used special wipes because this area does scratch easily but the bead-stove finish…yikes…maybe I have to scour them? I love the fan "wall". Another poster mentioned about the ignitor sometimes clogging and you hear that incessant "click…click…click" on all settings except simmer (for one of the burners) but we can live with that. Overall we're happy but I rated the lowest in terms of "value" because for the price of the item and cost of repairs, I would except something that is basically push-button and pristine.

This product has met my needs for the last five years.
I have owned this cooktop for five years. Overall, I am pleased with it. After three years though, I had to have one of the gas caskets replaced. Of course, it was out of warranty. That was a disappointment. One light indicator went out after a few years. Otherwise, I really enjoy this appliance. I am very meticulous about the cleaning. I have used the product that came with it to clean, but it still has some stains around the center which I wish I could get clean.

This cooktop thrills me! Incredible performance!
I've used them all: you name it, I've tried it - from the outrageously-priced imports to the standard ones. I have *never* been happier with cook top performance or features, and "bang for your buck" is an understatement. I've been cooking for 45 years, and frankly, this is the first cook top I've used where I can *really* tell the difference in quality and performance and response time; and I actually experience True Simmer. Plenty of other brands have the True Simmer indicator on their knobs, but Dacor's Simmer really delivers it, quickly and effortlessly - no need to keep checking the pot in order to maintain a simmer.
Too many other great features to list them all, but the blue light indicator and ease of cleaning are among the other treats.

36" gas cooktop Renaissance
This cooktop is better than any other brand I researched and looked at in various showrooms. I love the fact that burners are divided into their own sections so that if something boils over it doesn't go all over the stove but stays confined within its divided area. The 2 simmer burners are wonderful as well and its a powerful cooktop. The stove can be scrubbed clean without risk of scratching the surface, which isn't possible with most other stainless steel cooktops. If you like to use a wok, then the grates on this cooktop are great because there is no danger of the wok sliding around or tilting like in many other brand grate designs. I do wish that the grates were dishwasher safe.
