Installation FAQ

I am installing an Epicure® Wall Hood and do not have any cabinets above it, can the hood be mounted to the back wall?

Answer:

Yes, Epicure® Wall Hoods are designed and engineered to mount to a structural surface above or behind the hood. For convenient rear-wall attachment a ledger-mounting channel is used. This channel allows the installer to locate the structural members, within the rear wall, and firmly attach the field-supplied ledger material to the wall before mounting the hood. Once the ledger is level and attached correctly, the installer can place the hood on the ledger for support while continuing the installation. The next step is to attach the hood to the wall from the inside area behind the grime shields. With the filters and grime shield removed, the installer locates the final anchoring screws and flat washers. A series of slots are provided across the full width of the rear wall of the hood for multiple anchoring locations. To complete the installation, the installer finishes all electrical and sheet metal ducting attachments. In addition, the installer mounts the grime shield and returns the filters to their original position. Please refer to the illustration included for more details.
